The Colour Fun Run and Obstacle Course will take place on Saturday 17th May 2025 (weather permitting), with sessions hourly sessions from 11am to 4pm. The first session - at 11am - is a quiet session for those who prefer a calmer, less busy environment.
This event costs £5 per entry and is open to all Hall Orchard school pupils and their families (including grown-ups and siblings). Please note this event is a closed event for pupils and their families, it is not open to the general public. Children must have at least one adult with them even if they are not taking part as it is outside school hours. Event booking will close on Wednesday 30 April, don’t miss out!
Funds raised will go towards new playground markings, as requested by the School Council, and new sports equipment.
On the day, please arrive 20 minutes before the session so we can check you off the list. You will then warm up and be staggered in groups of approximately 50 to make your way around the obstacle course. There will be several stations around the obstacle course where volunteers will be stationed ready to throw paint powder at you. At the end you will receive a small gift. Additional paint can be purchased on the day at a cost of £1.50.
There will also be a bar and BBQ, as well as a few stalls for you to peruse
What to wear: We strongly recommend wearing sunglasses or goggles to prevent paint getting into eyes, as well as clothes you don’t mind getting paint on.
If bad weather means the event cannot go ahead then your entry will be moved to a rescheduled date in September.
Please contact ptfa@hall-orchard.leics.sch.uk if you have any questions.

The course will be set up in the school field in a snake shape with between 8 and 10 obstacles. Each participant should be able to get round once and the session includes a warm up. Depending on numbers in each session we will likely let you start in smaller groups to avoid crowding at some of the obstacles and to ensure all participants get covered with powder.

Yes! Rinse your hair with cold water first to remove as much as possible, then wash using a good quality shampoo. You can also use a conditioner/oil before the event - apply liberally to your hair and leave in for the event. This helps create a barrier between the colour powder and your hair. Alternatively, wear a hat or fun wig!

Colour powder is made with corn starch and natural vegetable or food-grade dyes. The colour powder we are using is non-flammable and non-toxic. We have a copy of the Material Safety Data Sheet for the colour powder we are using, please contact the PTFA if you need more information.

The colour powder we are using is safe for everyone to use. However, we do recommend that younger children are supervised at all times. It is very important that all participants wear glasses/sunglasses/goggles to stop the powder from irritating eyes.
